Kurosawa’s utterly excellent version of the Shakespeare play Macbeth (some info here). If you’ve never seen one of these classic Samurai movies, they’re much longer than standard Hollywood movies (even though with just over two hours this one is kind of short), and the way the story is allowed to evolve is very different from what you’re used to.
